04 – Step 3 “A” Always Have a Backup

Step 3 of the PSA is my favorite. “A” Always have a backup is the most important part of weeknight dinner success. There will be days when things don’t go as planned. You may have sick kids or schedule changes or just feel super tired and don’t want to cook. Having the ingredients in your house for a dinner you can get on the table in 20 minutes or less is the key to avoiding the drive- thru.

Think of 3 backup meals and go get the ingredients for those meals this week.

Tacos (you can get my recipe for Big Batch Taco Meat in my cookbook.)

Chicken Noodle Soup (From leftover roast chicken and bone broth.)

Breakfast for dinner

      Me too! I often plan to use backups when I know life is hectic.
